AlbumWorks appeals to all music lovers who listened to and are still nostalgic about popular music made between the 1960s and 1980s. Many AlbumWorks customers relate to my creations because they were there for the early era of rock and roll and Motown and because they listened to this music on vinyl. My album cover creations will be familiar sights, bring back memories of good times and are, thus, the central working material of our products. AlbumWorks also appeals to a younger generation who enjoys exploring the “retro” experience and especially appeals to young people correctly-schooled on the original forms of classic rock and r&b by their parents. :)
My love of record album covers and spinning vinyl led me to an experimentation: an album cover clock? Once my ABBA clock hung on the wall, I knew re-purposing discarded album covers would be a fun new avenue for my creativity, and away I went! I’m proud to share my passion with you! AlbumWorks has been going strong since 2013. Seems like only yesterday at our first show in Paola, KS at their Roots and Blues Festival that I screamed “It’s REAL,” to my husband as I high-fived him! Friends and family came out for support and I took my first two special orders - Wahoo!
I grew up spinning 60′s records on a one-speaker record player on the floor of my mom’s San Francisco apartment. I still play record albums at home and, through AlbumWorks, love working with album covers and their vinyl to invent new nostalgic musical gifts. My mission at AlbumWorks is to repurpose record album covers and vinyl records into decorative and functional one-of-a-kind creations – giving new life to classic album art and keeping music memories alive for vinyl-loving generations.
AlbumWorks is a home-based business – Hubby built me a fabulous studio in the basement! Our one-of-a-kind gifts are available for sale on this website and regionally at arts & craft festivals in the Midwest.
Our product line includes functional, decorative and nostalgic gifts for friends and family of all ages. I start with original record album covers, their vinyl albums, any included inserts and their paper sleeves. These materials are integrated with glue, tape, cardstock, decorative paper, frames, clock parts, scrapbooks, canvas bags, spirals, lamination, glass, plastic and ribbons. All products are hand-made by me.
